I was given seven weeks to do whatever I wanted. It was the first time I'd been given that kind of free reign. I chose to investigate modular structures and produced a piece of furniture requiring neither screws or adhesive. It can be assembled by a single person in 30 minutes and disassembled in 20.

Process
The parts are shaped to maximize material efficiency. The elliptical modules are each composed of two interlocking parts so that they could be cut and shipped more easily while retaining their 7.5’ length. The bench was displayed in the MICA First Years' Art Show.
